  • Redo your movie notes if you'd like to gain points
Example of a 3/4 essay:
Romeo and Juliet are in lust. When asked to answer the question, "Are Romeo and Juliet in love or lust?" I concluded that they are in lust not in love. As Romeo states in 1.5.93-94, "My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss." This is from the first passage he said to Juliet. When you first meet see someone you get an impression of them, you get this impression by seeing them. Some modern first impressions are, "He looks scary,"  or "She looks fake," or "They look untrustworthy." When you see this you realize you are judging because of looks and not personality. Romeo who had never even talked to Juliet once before was judging her on the was she looks. Another example of lust is when Juliet says this in 2.2.68-69, "My ears have not yet drunk a hundred words of that youngest uttering, yet I know that sound." This passage was said on the balcony by Juliet just an hour or so after they had first met. In this scene they proclaim their love for each other many times even though they just met, the only thing they know about each other is their names. When you love someone you are able to at least tell what their favorite colors is, or what their middle name is, or what their personality is like, Romeo and Juliet can't. Therefore I conclude that Romeo and Juliet's love is lust and not love.
